Cary wrestling took home first place and Eloheim Palma won Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2008 Bear Classic hosted by Claremont Bunker Hill over Thanksgiving break.

Cary bested the 10-team field with match-best 262 points.

Piedmont came in second, followed by Bunker Hill at third.

Palma, ranked No. 3 in the country in the heavyweight division, improved his unbeaten record and won his second Most Outstanding Wrestler in just as many tournaments this year, the earlier one coming at the Westover Invitational in Fayetteville.

Cary’s list of winners didn’t end with Palma.

Cary also had Ben Creed (103-pounds), Chris Villari (112), Ronnie Winterton (135), Gabe Brotzman (152), Matt Colvard (160) and Chris Hare (171) take home first place in their respective weight classes.
