Tri-Eight team, awards announced for volleyball

After leading the conference for the greater part of the season, it’s no surprise that Apex and Green Hope were honored more than any other Tri-Eight team when the conference announced its postseason awards. Apex coach Nikki O’Connell was tabbed Coach of the Year after leading the Cougars to the East Regional final, while Green Hope’s Jennifer Hindman was named player of the year. The Falcons, who had four players named to the All-Conference team, ended their year in the East Regional semifinal. Apex had the next highest amount of members on the All-Conference team with three.
