The Marlins Of Raleigh swim team and Speedo are offering an Olympic Swim Clinic with two-time Olympian Katie Hoff on Saturday, April 18 from, 9 to 11 a.m. at N.C. State’s Willis Casey Natatorium.

At the Olympic Games in Bejing, Hoff won a silver medal in the 400 Free and bronze in the 400 IM and 800 Free Relay.

Local runners compete at Raleigh Relays

Several local high school runners competed in the Raleigh Relays on the campus of N.C. State University on March 20 and 21.

Each year the Raleigh Relays feature runners from both collegiately and in the high school ranks, with most of the field coming from within the North Carolina border.

Three local girls competed in the 3200m, with Green Hope’s Olivia Enright posting the best time with 11:08.53. She finished sixth while fellow Falcon Lauren Colberg came in 14th with 11:40.72.

Cary High’s Jenna Christensen also competed in the 3200m, and finished 11th with a time of 11:24.01. On the boys’ side, five local runners from three different schools competed in the 3200m.

Cary’s Mohamed Abushouk had the best time of that group, finishing third with a 9:15.12.

Green Hope teammates Zak Roshdy (eighth, 9:27.80), Bryan Spreitzer (10th, 9:36.28) and Doug Black (11th, 9:42.52) were the next three local participants to finish.

Rolland Geiger of Middle Creek ran a 9:50.46 in the 3200m, which was good for 13th place.
