Apexs girls and Carys boys each won their third straight Tri-Nine title on Thursday, which was the second day of the event hosted by Middle Creek High School. The previous two years were all-day Saturday events hosted by Athens Drive.

At Saturdays Wake County championships hosted by Sanderson High School, the strongest performances were by the countys two defending 4A state champs the Wakefield girls and Knightdale boys. Knightdale cruised to its win with 89 points; Wakefield enjoyed a win with 115 points.
