Make it two titles in as many tries for Cary Academy sophomore Thomas Graham.

After winning last year's NCISAA individual cross country state championship, Graham dominated this year's event with a 15:38 — a whopping 45 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Graham is halfway to becoming the first four-time champion in NCISAA history.

Graham's performance was one of many the Chargers, who finished second overall in the team competition, had to be proud of.

Finishing second for Cary Academy was senior Dorian Crawford. Crawford picked a great time to run a personal-best 17:06 and finish 10th overall. It was 1:01 faster than his previous personal record, which came a week earlier in the TISAC meet.

Colin Godwin (18th) also took some time off his personal best to run third for Cary Academy at 17:21.

Coming in fourth for the Chargers was Alex Coeytaux (17:37, also a personal best) at 21st. Eric Kofman was fifth (17:39) at 35th. Alex Evans, the last of the six Chargers runners, was just two seconds behind Evans in 27th.

Although the Chargers placed six runners in front of Durham Academy's No. 5 runner, DA placed its top three in the top five. Durham Academy won the statewide meet with 53 points, while Cary Academy had 75.
