Six local golfers were named to the 2008 N.C. All-State Golf Teams by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), honoring them for their outstanding performance over the past 12 months. The N.C. All-State award recognizes those junior golfers who have had the most successful year in junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels. Making first-team all-state is Katherine Perry, who led the Athens Drive Jaguars to the 4-A state title in October. Middle Creek's Courtney Rousse, heading to the University of Richmond next year on scholarship, was named to the second-team.On the boys' side, pairs of teammates were named to the first and second teams as Michael Cromie and Michaell Marshburn of Green Hope made first team, while Josh Conners and Andy Knox of Apex High made second team.Marshburn is heading to East Carolina next year on scholarship.LIST OF WINNERSN.C.
