Cary Academy furnishes soccer youth in Africa
The Katesh Chargers of Tanzania are using old uniforms from Cary Academy.

About 18 months ago, Cary Academy’s athletic department, through its administrative assistant Rebecca Watkins, donated some of its old soccer and basketball uniforms to the Peace Corps. in Africa. The Katesh Chargers of Tanzania are seen here in full Charger regalia. The Cary Academy’s Peace Corps. contact said that the players were thrilled to have the uniforms and were very grateful. The Peace Corps. contact said he did have a difficult time, however, explaining to them what a Charger actually is.
