Area youth can participate in Junior Paralympic Skills Competition

Local youth with disabilities ages 8-19 have the opportunity to participate in the second annual Jr. Paralympic Skills Competition.

This is a grassroots program that allows boys and girls with disabilities to showcase their athletic skills in basketball, tennis, sit volleyball, boccia, and track and field.

Amputees, children in wheelchairs and children with cerebral palsy are welcome. The program is designed to teach our disabled youth athletic skills and encourage participation in sports.

Practice sessions for each athletic skill will be hosted at Brier Creek Parks & Recreation located on 10810 Globe Road Raleigh, NC 27617 on April 5, 19, 26 as well as May 3, 10, 17, 31.

Each session is from 3:30-5 p.m. and the cost is $20. Financial scholarships will be offered based on need. For more information visit bridge2sports.com or contact the local Ashley Thomas at 866-880-2742.
