Cary High School Band members Danny Blye, Sean Blye, Allison Bivens, Dalton Harris, Daniel Cade and Alexander Nordquist were selected to the N.C. Bandmasters Central District All-District Band. Members auditioned on Jan. 10 and were selected from more than 1,000 students who auditioned.

Carter Harris auditioned for and was selected to the Central District All-District Jazz Band.

Several of these students are now also eligible to audition for the N.C. Honors Band in April.

The 2009 Winter Guard and Drum Line programs are well under way. A local AIA Competition was held Saturday, Feb. 28, at Clayton High School (Winter Guard and Drum Line); and one will be held Saturday, March 14, at Wakefield High School.

Cary High School Winter Guard and Drum Line will compete at the AIA Championship in Virginia March 28-29.

On Thursday, March 19, the band will perform its Spring Concert. The Symphonic and Concert bands will perform with Reedy Creek Middle School Band in the Cary High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, April 23, the band will perform in the Green Tie Gala at Cary High School auditorium at 7 p.m. This event will feature all the performing arts programs at the school.
