Cary High

June 12 at Reynolds Coliseum

No. of graduates: 500

Class quote: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Attributed to Mark Twain

Primed and ready: “They are an outstanding group of young men and women,” Principal Doug Thilman said of Cary High’s 100th graduating class. “They have made it and they sit before us tonight primed and ready to take on the world.”

Three things: “This night is truly about you,” Valedictorian Roland Larino told his classmates. “Tonight we celebrate four years of hard work and sleep deprivation.” Larino implored his fellow graduates to do three things every day: laugh, think and cry. “That’s a heck of a day,” Larino said. “If you do that seven days a week you’re gonna have something special.”

We made it: “Getting here for some of us may not have been the easiest thing, but that’s not what matters,” said Senior Class President Timothy Crooks. He recited to his classmates what he said was one of his favorite quotes: “Life is full of obstacles. Get over it.”

“And we did,” Crooks said. “Remember all that you’ve learned and all that you’ve been taught at Cary High School.”
