The Cary High School concert chorus and a combined orchestra from Cary and Athens Drive High schools performed at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C., on May 2, as part of the 2008 National Festival of the States.

The chorus is under the direction of Ed Yasick and the orchestra is under the direction of Marta Partridge.

The groups spent four days in the Washington area visiting this and other national monuments and points of interest. The concert chorus performed Sunday, May 4, at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the orchestra performed at St. Patrick’s Church.
