Choose me. No choose me, I’m better qualified. In a few weeks all the political ads will be done with and decisions will have been made.

However before then the Apex Lions are also asking for you to choose them. No vote is necessary; all you have to do is purchase your meals at their booth at the N.C. State Fair. Why should you choose the Apex Lions Booth when there are a lot of other places to eat?

Experience: The Apex Lions have been serving good food at the fair for over 45 years. Bill Booth is working at the same fair booth as his father; Larry Jordan is the third generation Apex Lion to be working at this booth. Also you can’t forget those Biscuit Ladies who have been making those famous homemade buttermilk biscuits all these years.

Fiscal responsibility: All the volunteer hours put in by the members of the Apex Lions results in more money to be spent to support local charities and youth activities. Included in these are the Western Wake Crisis Ministry, Apex High Booster Club and scholarships, sponsorship of a Boy Scout Troop and a Cub Scout Pack, vision screenings, eye glasses and many more.

Health Care: Remember your mother telling you to eat your vegetables?

Well, healthy vegetable soup has always been a staple at the Apex Lions Fair Booth.

Foreign affairs: How about french fries, cappuccino and lattes?

Diversity: No matter what your tastes, you are bound to find something you like at the booth. The menu includes country ham, sausage and eggs to go along with those biscuits. There are hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, cheese fries, barbecue pork, pies, soft drinks and coffee. New this year are chicken strips.

The Apex Lions hope that you will decide to choose them as the place to eat at the fair.
