Feb. 21: Student registration program for parents of current 9th- and 10th-graders. See apex high.com for information.

Feb. 26: Conference Day for parents and teachers, 3-6 p.m. Parents will be contacted the week before Conference Day if the teacher specifically requests a conference for the student. If a parent would like to meet with a teacher on Conference Day, call the conference line at 387-2247 on Wednesday, Feb. 20; Thursday Feb. 21; or Friday, Feb. 22, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Athens Drive High

Registration for AP exams ends March 3 at noon and no late registration will be accepted. The cost is $84. AP testing begins May 5 and ends May 16.

Cary Academy

The Beta Club and Key Club’s annual Clean Out Your Closet Drive brought in 60 bags of clothing and hygiene items. The clothes were distributed Pro Familia, Catholic Migrant Farm Worker’s Outreach and Helping Hand Mission.

• Ten seniors have been named finalists for 2008 National Merit Scholarships: Elizabeth Atkins, Benjamin Goldhaber, Andrea Green, Max Hamilton, Corey Lerch, Michelle Luo, Charlotte Morgan, David Thorstad, Robert Thorstad and Diana Woodall.

• Diana Woodall (’08) has been named a Coca-Cola Scholar. Only 250 scholars were selected out of over 80,000 applicants. The Coca-Cola scholarship is at least a $10,000 award.

• Elizabeth Atkins (’08) and Andrea Green (’08) have been named candidates in the 2008 United States Presidential Scholars Program.
