APEX MIDDLE
• Sixth-grade orientation will be Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. for last names beginning with A - K and Friday, Aug. 21, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. for last names beginning with L - Z.
• Seventh- and eighth-grade Meet The Teacher will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 3:30 until 6 p.m.

APEX HIGH • Cougar Camp for incoming freshmen and parents will be Aug. 12-13. Students whose last names begin with A-F, should come Aug. 12, 9 to 11 a.m.; last names G-L will be Aug. 12, noon to 2 p.m.; last names M-R meet Aug. 13, 9 o 11 a.m.; last names S-Z will be Aug. 13, noon to 2 p.m. At camp, students will have the opportunity to pick up class schedules, tour the campus, and participate in team-building activities. Parents are invited to attend an open house during camp in the cafeteria, sponsored by the PTSA. The PTSA will be selling memberships, spiritwear and planners.
• Freshman and new student orientation will be Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. This is a chance for new students and parents to ‘walk their schedule’ and get oriented to the campus. The PTSA will be there selling memberships, spiritwear and planners. No teachers will be present.

DAVIS DRIVE MIDDLE
Panther Pride Camp for sixth grade only will be Wednesday, Aug. 19: Last names A-L from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; M-Z from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Open House for seventh- and eighth-graders will be Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m.

DILLARD DRIVE MIDDLE
• Meet the new administrative team on Aug. 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Meet principal Nolan Bryant; Colin Lowry, sixth-grade assistant principal; Peggy Credle, seventh-grade assistant principal; and Dorothy McGirt, eighth-grade assistant principal.
• Meet the Teacher Day is Thursday, Aug. 20. Eighth graders meet from noon to 1 p.m.; seventh graders meet from 1 to 2 p.m.; and sixth graders whose last names begin with A-L will meet from 2 to 3 p.m., while sixth graders whose last names begin with M-Z will meet from 3 to 4 p.m.

HEARTWOOD MONTESSORI
• The Toddler House will hold a parent information session at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17.
• On Friday Aug. 21, there will be an Open House for kindergarten and elementary students beginning at 9 a.m. Students and parents are welcome to visit the classroom and meet the teachers along with other students.

• Tuesday, Aug. 25, will be open house for preschool, kindergarten and toddler students from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Students and parents are invited to visit their classrooms, meet their teachers and friends.
• Thursday, Aug. 27, will be a parent information session for all preschool and kindergarten parents from 7 to 8 p.m.

HOLLY SPRINGS HIGH
The Holly Springs High School Golden Hawks Club has announced its 2009-10 quarterly general meeting schedule. The first meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the HSHS Media Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Parents and guardians of students, and any other community members interested in supporting HSHS student athletes, are encouraged to attend. Other meetings will be held in the HSHS Media Center at 7 p.m. Nov. 17, Jan. 19, March 16 and May 18. For information, call Cary Binz at 919-552-9652.

OLIVE CHAPEL ELEMENTARY
Open House for Tracks 3 and 4 will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Classroom visits will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and a brief PTA general meeting will be held from 6:45 to 7 p.m. Classroom presentations will be repeated from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Child care will not be provided.

PENNY ROAD ELEMENTARY
The Penny Road PTA is hosting a Back to School Kickoff from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 23. Families are invited to visit the Parent Information Fair in the Media Center from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Meet the Teacher from 4 until 5 p.m. in the classrooms. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., stay to socialize and eat dinner (pre-ordered or brought from home). For the kids, there will be a DJ, bounce houses, and T-shirt raffle.

ST. MICHAEL
• St. Michael School will host its new-parent social at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the Archangel Center for PreK-8 families.
• On Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., there will be an orientation and ice cream social for all St. Michael School families.
