APPLE SEEDS PRESCHOOL
A.P.P.L.E.Seeds Preschool is now offering a 5 year-old transitional program as part of its preschool education. The class is designed to meet the needs of those students who currently are not eligible to begin kindergarten this fall due to the earlier cut off date of August 31. The school will also be accepting students who will be eligible to begin kindergarten in the fall, but may not be developmentally ready to go to kindergarten quite yet. These students will need to be turning 5 years old between the dates of June 1 and Nov. 30, 2009. Only 12 slots will be available. CARY HIGH
The school announced that 1st IMPressions Camp for rising ninth graders will be held on August 12. There will also be sessions for parents running concurrently with your child’s session. Students whose last names begin with A-L will meet in morning sessions from 8:30-11:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 8. Students with last names beginning with M-Z, and all band members and football players, will meet in sessions from 12:30-3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at noon. GODDARD SCHOOL
The Goddard School in Apex hosted pre-kindergarten graduation ceremonies at The Halle Cultural Center. Thirty-eight pre-kindergarten students participated in a cap and gown ceremony. This class of students is eligible for the Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship named for the late founder of The Goddard School. The $10,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate of the Goddard School who demonstrates the work ethic and perseverance that exemplified Martino’s commitment to his career, family and community. Graduates are eligible in their junior or senior year of high school for use towards an accredited higher education program. For information see goddardschool.com.

GREEN HOPE HIGH
Falcon Freshmen Orientation will take place Tuesday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 11 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Students will start in the auditorium and rotate through five informational sessions. A session for parents begins promptly at noon in the auditorium. Students will be released from the club fair to meet their parents at 12:30 p.m.

OLIVE CHAPEL ELEMENTARY
Open House and PTA General Meeting for Tracks 1 and 2 will be Tuesday, July 28. Parents can visit classrooms from 6-6:30 p.m. The PTA general meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room from 6:45-7 p.m. Classroom presentations will be repeated from 7-7:30 p.m. Open house for Tracks 3 and 4 will be on Thursday, Aug. 18.

MIDDLE CREEK HIGH
Attention rising ninth graders from Dillard Drive Middle, Lufkin Road Middle, Holly Ridge Middle and West Lake Middle: The athletic booster club at MCHS is eager to keep students and parents abreast of what’s going on and welcomes involvement. The club is in need of volunteers for many committees and the board office of treasurer is open. Get involved and make a difference.
