Davis Drive Middle

A special congratulations goes out to Amber Wang for placing first in the viola section.

Farmington Woods
• Getting "In the Zone" with reading was the goal for the week of March 2-6. Each grade level designated a length of time that students could read silently each day that week. At the end of the week, students made a presentation (small poster, chart, picture, etc.) of their most enjoyable reading of the week. These were posted outside the classrooms to create zones of good reading ideas.
• Individual pictures will be taken on Friday, March 27.
• Information Sessions on the IB Program at Farmington Woods will be 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 1.

Heartwood Montessori
• The Preschool classes are going on several field trips this month, including the Poe Cultural Center and Centennial Campus.
• The Annual Egg Contest will be held on April 2 and the Egg Hunt will be on Friday, April 3.
• Spring Break begins April 6.
• The Annual Spring Fling will be on Saturday, April 18 at Lake Wheeler park. Donations for the silent auction are due March 20.

Hopewell Academy
• Congratulations to February's Elementary and Middle School Students of the Month: sixth grader Joshua McGee, son of Ed and Shearin McGee of Fuquay-Varina and fourth grader Brandon Bagnulo, son of Stacey Petello of Cary and Ryan Bagnulo of Charlotte.
• Yearbooks are now on sale. To order a yearbook, contact a member of the yearbook staff.
• The Elementary class will travel to Western Wake Regional Library on Tuesday, March 24, to pick out new Accelerated Reader books. Parent volunteers are needed to help with carpooling.
• Open House for prospective parents is 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. RSVP by calling 607-6339 or visit hopewellacademy.org.

Oak Grove Elementary
On March 19, the school will host a cultural arts performance by Almost Recess, who will sing a cappella and explain how they create their music.

Penny Road Elementary
• Through March 20: Scholastic Spring Book Fair. Evening shopping hours will be 6-8 p.m. on March 19.
• March 19: PTA meeting will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a performance from the Impact Tri-Force Competitive Jump Rope Team at 6:30.
• Spring Beautification Day is Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This is a great time to earn service hours for middle and high schools, Boy Scout troops, and Girl Scout troops. Lunch will be provided to the volunteers.

Raleigh School
• March 19, School pictures
• March 19, fourth-grade classes will visit Poe Health Center to participate in the program Exercise and Nutrition.

Reedy Creek Middle
Reedy Creek Middle School is one of only two schools in Wake County recognized by the State Board of Education as a Triple "S" school (Super Safe School). This is the third year in a row that RCMS has been awarded this distinction.

Resurrection Lutheran School
• The public is invited to attend the Middle School's hilarious retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood" in the production, "Wooing Wed Widing Hood," on Friday, March 27, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 8 and under. Dinner will be provided after the performance. A donation is requested.
• Saturday, March 28, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Spring Fling carnival with inflatables, games, cake walk, bake sale, student booths, food and prizes. Information: rlscary.org or 851-7270 ext. 30.

St. Michael School
The school competed in the Regional Science Olympiad Competition in Garner. Three first place JV student teams and three first place Varsity student teams are moving on to the state competition at N.C. State in April.

Sterling Montessori
Friday, March 20, there will be school, to make-up for the inclement weather day on Jan. 21.
