Signs of the times

I am delighted to think some sense may finally be applied to the restrictions on signs ["Signs getting more colorful," Aug. 26].

Perhaps the Town of Cary could be allowed to have a little personality.

That's what makes towns inviting and unique -- like that junky, but interesting, home across from St. Michael's on High House Road.

That guy was here long before all the unimaginative rule makers.

More signs,

more times

[Regarding "Recession could relax tough sign law," Sept. 2]:

We currently have an unsold house in our neighborhood.

And I would far rather have open house signs and balloons in front of it every week than what we have now -- a vacant, unkempt house with overgrown grass.
