What fantastic College Baseball! Tremendous thanks to the Town of Cary committee and the Mount Olive committee that joined forces to sponsor the weeklong NCAA Division II College Baseball Championship at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary. I attended eight of the last nine games, including the championship game that was on national television — it was the best baseball I have seen lately and I had season tickets to the N.C. State games this season and season tickets to the UNC games last season.

If you love baseball, I’m sorry you missed it — the reason was that the local print and TV media chose not to publicize the event (and I always thought informing the local public of what is happening in the community was one of the media’s goals — not so on this one; politics I guess.) The Mount Olive College Web site did a fantastic job both providing pre-tournament and tournament coverage. Good job — well done.

Should the USA Baseball Complex be the site of future NCAA baseball championships (and I hope that will come to pass), I plan to make every effort to attend. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
