Arrogant behavior

Citizens of Apex, when are you going to wake up? When are you going to recognize the arrogance of your town leaders? When are you going to rectify their wrong doings?

Your town, along with Cary, Holly Springs and Morrisville, is running over your small neighbor, New Hill. They are planning to build a 30 million-gallon sewage plant right in the center of our community. They have made a sham of the public information process by intentionally suppressing information and proceeding with the building of infrastructure even though they have no permit for the project. They have already laid a water line to New Hill, under the guise of supplying their fire station. They have already condemned land for a power line from Apex to power the sewage plant even though there are Progress Energy power lines already here and on the sewage plant site. The cost of these projects is born by you, the taxpayers of Apex. Are you aware that your tax monies are going for these projects five miles from your city limits? Do you care that they are spending your money like this? Are you aware that they are now dumping water from that water pipeline at a rate of about 2 gallons a second to keep it from stagnating? That’s 172,000 gallons of water a day that your tax money paid to treat, pump to New Hill and dump on the ground. This dumping will be necessary until there is another use for this water. If this waste of your hard-earned money concerns you, call your town board members and your fine mayor and tell them.

Wayne Womble, New Hill

I live in Holly Springs and post a bird blog that might be interesting for your readers. Right now we have a bluebird nest with five eggs that are due to hatch sometime this weekend. I’ll open the nestbox each day and take pictures of the nestlings, so it can be pretty fun. Hope you’ll check it out! Go to dheiser.myncblogs.com/. Dave Heiser, Holly Springs

Thanks for dreaming

Each Big Dream gathering is different. We never quite know what to expect and we are always amazed at the incredible things that happen. The Big Dream gathering held in Cary last month was no exception.

But for me, the best aspect of this Big Dream gathering was the team behind it. From the beginning, when Randy Nowak and BJ Gustinis approached me to see if they could host a Big Dream gathering in Cary, I knew they wanted to spark some hope and fuel some BIG dreams in the area.

BJ and Randy, along with some of their amazing friends, worked tirelessly to bring the BIG dream gathering to Cary and make it a success! Now, I’ll say that they will probably be embarrassed by me pointing this out because they didn’t do it to get the credit. They did it to promote big dreaming and paying it forward in Cary. But I wanted to say a huge thank you to them for their time, support, ideas and commitment. It wouldn’t have happened without them.
