Marguerite Smith Bennett, 93, of Apex passed away Monday Oct. 26, 2009. Marguerite and her husband owned and operated “Bennett’s Clothing & Shoes” for over 25 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Apex Baptist Church for over 50 years. Marguerite also was a member of the Apex Volunteer Fire Department Fire Bells. A funeral service will be held by Rev. Phil Qualls on Thursday Oct. 29, 2009 in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. The burial will follow in the Apex Cemetery. She is survived by son Charles and wife, Debra Bennett of Holly Springs; son, James Bennett of Apex; daughter, Cheryl and husband Mike Glover of Spring Hope; sister, Ruth Allsbrook of Cary; granddaughter, Bekki Bennett of Apex; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family request donations are made to the Apex Baptist Church or to the Apex Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex.
