Cary

A student at Middle Creek High was charged earlier this month in the theft of electronics and other personal property from several cars in The Park at Langston subdivision near the school. Jacob Neal Sneider, 18, of 6904 Lake Wheeler Road, faces charges of larceny from motor vehicles. Police in Cary said a witness in the neighborhood confronted Sneider after seeing him break into a car. Officers arrested Sneider a short time later as he walked along West Lake Road. At the time of his arrest, Sneider was carrying a backpack containing some of the stolen property, including a GPS unit and several power cords.

Police in Cary are investigating a case of attempted internet fraud in which someone tried to scam a local man out of $5,000. The would-be victim told officers he received a check by mail for that amount on Oct. 6 from someone looking to purchase a $1,500 set of tire rims. The suspect asked that the remaining money be wired back to him. The seller checked with Chase Bank and discovered that the check he had received was fraudulent.

Apex

Someone stole a Visa debit card belonging to a resident of Brittley Way between 12 p.m and 5:52 p.m. Oct. 7.

Someone used a fraudulent financial card at Office Max at 1021 Beaver Creek Commons Drive at about 6:49 p.m. Sept. 25. 25 gift cards valued at $4,266.44 were purchased with the card.

A Toyota Corolla was taken from a home on South Hughes Street between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

Someone entered a home on Shackleton Road between Oct. 1 and 1:23 p.m. Oct. 13. A bicycle was taken.

A BMW 745i was taken from 1410 West Williams St. between 7:38 p.m. and 7:43 p.m. Oct. 13.

Someone entered a home on North Salem Street between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14. A ratchet set, a power drill a jewelry box, a laptop computer and a large LCD television were taken.

A home was entered on Culvert Street between 8:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Oct. 15. Silver earrings, a bottle containing seven Vicodin pills and $80 cash were taken.

Fuquay-Varina

A man robbed the Tobacco Store at 1328 N. Main St. at about 3:13 p.m. Oct. 6 by alluding to a fictitious gun. Five cartons of Newport cigarettes and $328 cash were taken.

Someone took medication from a home on Perry Howard Road between Sept. 21 and Sept. 23. 45 Prozac, 49 Diazepam and 8 Suboxone pills were taken.

An unlocked vehicle was entered at 1300 N. Main St. between 5:15 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. Oct. 8. A purse containing a driver's license, $50 cash, a check book and three insurance cards was taken.

Holly Springs

Someone entered an unsecured vehicle at a home on Holly Berry Lane between 6 p.m. Oct. 4 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7. A CD player was taken.

Police charged Michael Shane George Jr., 20, of 705 S. Main St., with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting a public officer at 7:05 a.m. Oct. 10. Police were responding to a verbal dispute call when the suspect allegedly injured an officer.
