• On May 5 at 7 a.m., police arrested Jonathan Paul Drum, 22, of 109 Noritake Drive, with one count of possession of heroin. Officers arrested Drum after being dispatched to assist rescue workers treating Drum’s brother for a suspected heroin overdose. Drum’s brother was not immediately charged with any crime pending his recovery.

• On May 4 at 2:39 p.m., police charged Carlton Lamont Haskins, 41, of 7 Cougar Court, with two counts of felony breaking and entering and one count each of possession of stolen property and driving while license revoked. Haskins was stopped on I-40 at Airport Road shortly after a witness spotted him leaving a residence on Homestead Drive. It was not immediately clear what kind of property Haskins might have taken from the residence.

• Eleven cars parked outside Performance Auto Body on East Durham Road were broken into between 6 p.m. May 3 and 7 a.m. May 5. Someone cut a chain-link fence at the rear of the business and entered a storage lot, where they stole car stereos from three of the vehicles. Police have no suspects.

• An investigation is under way into the theft May 5 of gold jewelry from a home on Polk Street. The jewelry, valued at $1,300, was reportedly stolen from the victim’s bedroom.

• Police are investigating a possible case of fraud in which someone used a 72-year-old Cary man’s Shell credit card to make purchases totaling about $200. The transactions were made between 8:20 p.m. May 9 and 1 p.m. May 10.

• Someone stole $900 from a Toyota Landcruiser parked outside of the Crossroads 20 movie theater between 5:15 and 6:45 p.m. May 8. Police said a passenger window was shattered and the money was taken from the vehicle’s center console.

• A flatscreen TV and a BluRay disc player valued at a combined $1,550 were stolen between 5 and 11:15 p.m. May 9 from an apartment on North Benson Court. Police said the thief entered through a back door, which had been left unlocked.

• More than $3,100 in jewelry and cash was stolen in the early morning hours May 9 from Fedora on High House Road. Officers said the front door was shattered. But an employee didn’t notice any items missing until they made their first sale of the day. At that point, the employee discovered that the cash register had been emptied and a bag of jewelry had been taken from the back of the store.

• Police are investigating an alleged rape of a 26-year-old Georgia woman May 9 inside a hotel room at Days Inn, 1716 Walnut St. Officers said the victim knew her assailant, who reportedly entered the room using a hotel key.
