A Fuquay-Varina woman reported that a coworker at Burger King, 535 Walnut St., asked on June 22 to use the woman’s personal information to apply for a loan. The woman said no but said she later learned that the coworker had applied for the loan anyway using the information.

• Central Ohio Paintball of Columbus, Ohio reported that between May 28 and June 24 several orders for equipment totalling $1,122 were made from two addresses in Cary. Fraudulent cashier’s checks were used to pay for purchases totalling $728.16. Another package was returned after delivery was attempted several times and the recipient was either unable to pay or refused delivery.

• Four vehicles in the area of Virens Drive and Bargate Drive had windows broken and items taken between 8 p.m. June 23 and 9:15 a.m. June 24. Items taken included two GPS units, a radar detector, three pairs of shoes and a stereo faceplate.

• A Cary man reported being robbed by two men, one of whom had a knife. The victim reported on June 21 that about 5 p.m. June 8 two black men burst through the door of his room in a rooming house on Chapel Hill Road and took an undisclosed amount of money. Cary police had also responded to a burglary in progress at the address about the same time. The man said he waited to report the crime because he was scared, did not want to leave his room and had gone out of town to work.

• Cary police are investigating a report at State Employees’ Credit Union, 531 Walnut St., in which a customer is alleged to have deposited five checks into an ATM written on an apparently closed account totalling $14,390 between June 9 and June 13 and then withdrawn the funds a day or two later.

• Two men who had been walking along North Harrison Avenue about 10:20 p.m. June 19 reported that a third man robbed them. The assailant took one man’s head, rammed it into a wooden column and demanded money. A wallet, identification card and an undisclosed amount of money were taken.

• Someone entered an open garage on Glen Abbey Drive between 10 a.m. June 21 and 9:01 p.m. June 23 and took 12 bottles of Mike’s Hard Lemonade and 9 bottles of Corona beer.

• A purse, driver’s license and student identification were taken from an unlocked vehicle on Hilltop View Street between 1 and 1:10 a.m. June 22.

• A Raleigh woman faces an embezzlement charge. Chelsea Cofield, 20, of 2008 Lawrence Drive, Raleigh, is alleged to have had friends or family members bring five clothing items valued at $42.23 through the checkout line at Target, 2021 Walnut St. and she then discounted the items. The incident was allegedly captured on surveillance footage.

• A Cary woman faces a prescription fraud charge. Wendy Marie Just, 36, of 1607 Dunblaine Court, is alleged to have altered a prescription for Lortab, a narcotic, to show 120 tablets, not 10 as prescribed. The prescription was presented June 23 at a Wal-Mart in Cary. The pharmacy called the prescribing physician to confirm the scrip and the physician called police.

• Someone smashed the driver’s -side window of a vehicle on Regency Parkway between 7:15 p.m. June 24 and 5:50 a.m. June 25.

• A GPS unit and radar detector were taken from a vehicle on Medlin Drive between 7 p.m. June 24 and 8:30 a.m. June 25. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked.

• Cary police have recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Marcia Angelica Powers, 28, of 7717 Sandra Lane, charged about 4:37 a.m. June 21 at 100 Aeroglide Drive; Christopher Davis Jurgens, 36, of 7904 Sutcliffe D, Raleigh, charged about 1:37 a.m. June 20 at 301 N. Harrison Ave.; Vargas Ortiz Gaudencio, 28, of 215 York St., charged about 1:05 a.m. June 25 at 1001 S.E. Maynard Road.
