A cement mixer that had been chained to a truck at a construction site on Kildaire Farm Road was taken between 11:30 a.m. June 13 and 8:30 a.m. June 14. The chain had been cut.
• An iPod and GPS unit were taken from a vehicle on Virens Drive between 2:30 a.m. June 12 and 10:15 a.m. June 13. There were no signs of forced entry.
• Someone smashed out the passenger-side window of a vehicle on Hastings Place between 9:30 p.m. June 12 and 7:50 a.m. June 13. A computer was taken.
• A Tucson, Ariz. man reported that a man in Alabama used his credit card to purchase flowers from Flower Basket, 960 High House Road, on May 27.
• A Cary woman reported June 13 that a pair of 1.45-carat diamond earrings are missing. She said that had last seen them when she was moving between late August and early September.
• A Cary man reported that he and his daughter bought a 2004 Toyota Camry from a seller on craigslist on May 27. They made two payments but have not received the car.
• A Raleigh woman reported that her credit card was stolen in Raleigh on June 12 and used in Cary on June 13 to make purchases of $139.79 at Toys ‘R’ Us and $426.99 at Circuit City.
• Four credit cards, a power adapter and a wallet were taken from two unlocked vehicles on Carpenter Town Lane between 10 p.m. June 16 and 7:55 a.m. June 17.
• Someone broke out the front passenger window of a vehicle at AC Moore, 429 Crossroads Blvd., between 8:50 a.m. and 7 p.m. June 20. An iPod was taken.
• Someone smashed the front-door glass at Hot Point Deli, 1248 Buck Jones Road, between 1:16 and 1:25 a.m. June 21. One hundred dollars was taken from the cash register. Surveillance video revealed a suspect.
• A witness saw a woman go into a dressing room at Chico’s, 1105 Walnut St. about 3:30 p.m. June 21 with various items of clothes and exit without them. It appears the items, valued at $600, were stashed in the purse of Linda Sanders Thomas, 55, of 605 Honeysuckle Drive, Pittsboro. Thomas was also charged with another theft from the store of items valued at more than $750.
• A woman from Wickliffe, Ohio reported that her daughter and son-in-law used her black 1997 Chevrolet Silverado bearing Ohio license plate ABL 5227 to move from Ohio to Jacksonville. The truck broke down and was left at a construction site on Kingston Grove Drive on May 21. When the daughter and son-in-law came to retrieve the truck June 21, it was gone.
• Someone entered a home on Buxton Grant Drive between 8:55 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 19 through an apparently unlocked garage door. A television, DVD player, computer, two stereos and $30 cash were taken.
• A bicycle valued at $11,500 was taken from a rack in front of The Spin Cycle, 1241 Kildaire Farm Road, between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. June 17. The bike was recovered June 19 when it was located next to the store’s Dumpster.
• Residents at a home on Tate Street overhead suspects about 10:50 p.m. June 18, one on a bicycle and two in a dark green Ford Explorer, make comments that led the residents to believe that the suspects planned to break in to the home. The suspects left when the dog barked.n A plate tamper valued at $1,800 was taken from a construction site on Piershill Lane between 1 and 5 p.m. June 13.
• Cary police are investigating the fraudulent online purchase from Oxford University Press, 2001 Evans Road, of Bibles valued at $31,000 using “a high number of fraudulent cards” between June 1 and June 10. Attempts to purchase additional Bibles valued at nearly $150,000 were unsuccessful.
• Cary police have recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Richard Alexander Willoughby, 25, of 215 Holly Hock Lane, Apex, charged about 3:20 a.m. June 22 at 700 S.E. Cary Parkway; James Anthony Kersey Jr., 29, of 9 Sea Flower Path, Palm Coast, Fla., charged about 3:17 a.m. June 20 at 1830 Walnut St.
