Cary

Police charged a local man with defrauding his father of $1,600 early last year. According to officers, Richard Kelly Dreyer, 33, of 636 Abbey Hall Way, used his father's credit card to purchase 21 gift cards at a BP gas station on Old Apex Road. The incident occurred on March 7, 2008, police said. Dreyer was arrested late last month.

A homeowner on Sandy Hook Way reported to police on Oct. 23 that he had been the victim of a theft. Officers said someone shattered a window in the victim's car and stole his wallet along with a set of golf clubs valued at $1,000.

Officers conducting a traffic checkpoint on N.C. 55 on Oct. 23 arrested a Cary man on an outstanding warrant for fraud from another police jurisdiction. Charles Eugene McCaully, 49, of 117 Twila Road, was arrested on a specific charge of obtaining property by false pretenses. An officer's report did not name the agency that drew the warrant.

Apex

Someone forcefully entered a home on Thorncrest Drive through a rear window between 9:30 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. Oct. 25. Various DVDs, a digital camera, a pearl bracelet, a Nintendo Wii video game system and 10 Wii games were taken.

A Lincoln Town Car was stolen from a home on Harwood Street between 11 p.m. Oct. 25 and 2 p.m. Oct. 26.

Apex police recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Daniel Mcrae Yee, 27, of 6701 Valley Woods Lane, Cary, NC, charged about 11 p.m. Oct. 23 at West Williams Street and Haddon Hall Drive; Logan Cruse Gulliams, 21, of 456 Dickens Drive, Raleigh, NC, charged about 1:20 a.m. Oct. 24 at U.S. 64 and Fern Valley Lane; Ellen Marie Ballman, 47, of 1027 Dual Parks Road, charged about 10:54 p.m. Oct. 25 at Estate Drive and Shackleton Road.

Fuquay-Varina

A home was entered on Burton Street between 12:30 a.m. and 2:51 a.m. Oct. 22. A television was taken.

Someone entered an unsecured vehicle in a parking lot at 4085 Wade Nash Road between 2:50 p.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 22. A GPS unit was taken.

A resident of Alderleaf Drive was the victim of identity theft when someone used his identification to get a cell phone at about 2:45 p.m. Oct. 23.

Someone took the license plate from a vehicle at a home on Angier Road between 9 p.m. Oct. 17 and 7:37 p.m. Oct. 24.

A home on Maizefield Lane was entered without force at about 1:37 p.m. Oct. 25. A computer monitor and $90 cash were taken.

Holly Springs

The locks were cut off of a storage room of Advance Auto Parts at 650 N. Main St. between 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 16. Various tools were taken.

A woman assaulted someone with a knife on Blalock Street at about 1 a.m. Oct. 20. The incident occurred as the result of a verbal argument.

Someone tried to obtain prescription drugs using a fraudulent prescription at 500 Holly Springs Road between 3:20 p.m. and 3:23 p.m. Oct. 23.

A resident of Arbor Tree Court reported fraudulent activity on their checking account between 6:30 a.m. Oct. 22 and 10:34 a.m. Oct. 24.

Someone attempted to break into a home on Anchor Creek Way through a rear window between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 2:13 p.m. Oct. 25. Nothing was reported stolen.
