Cary

Two women have been charged in a string of thefts from Eye Care Associates stores in Raleigh, Cary, Wendell, Zebulon and Roseville. Sonya Valease Scott, 43, of Raleigh and Tonya Lyn Hagwood, 35, of 2005 Cindy Lane in Clayton, each face one count of felony larceny and one count of misdemeanor larceny. Police said the women stole sunglasses from each of the stores they visited, including shops in Renaissance Park Place and Walnut Street in Cary.

Police are investigating a series of car break-ins that occurred Friday on Grande Valley Circle and Grande Heights Drive. Seven cars were entered, and $2,950 in electronics were stolen from the vehicles. An officer pursued a suspect on foot before the suspect got away. The suspect was described as a tall, thin male wearing gloves and black clothing.

On Sept. 18, Cary police served a Garner man with an outstanding warrant for his arrest from police in McLean, Va. Officers said Patrick Leon Hollingsworth, 41, of 165 Bellfair Drive, Garner, failed to return a rental car in Fairfax County, Va., in 2005.

Apex

A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at the Kangaroo gas station at 1800 Laura Duncan Road between 8 and 9:24 a.m. on Sept. 1.

A vehicle was entered on Reunion Meadows Drive between 6 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10:14 a.m. Sept. 10. A toolbox, GPS unit and three travel bags containing scuba gear were taken.

Someone took a license plate from a vehicle at Apex High School at 1501 Laura Duncan Road between 3 p.m. Sept. 11 and 5 p.m. Sept. 12.

The front door of the Apex Food Mart at 321 S. Salem St. was broken between 3:10 and 3:16 a.m. Sept. 13. Nothing was taken.

Two televisions, a Dell laptop computer and a watch were taken from a home on Old Byrne Way. It happened between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 14.

Someone took a license plate from a vehicle on Homestead Park Drive between 3 and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15.

Fuquay-Varina

A license plate was taken from a vehicle on Hillside Court between 9 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10:47 a.m. Sept. 10.

Holly Springs

Fraudulent, unauthorized withdrawals were made from a bank account belonging to a resident of McClain Street between 3 p.m. Aug. 15 and 3 p.m. Aug. 18.

A silver 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was taken from a home on Lees Locke Court between 11 p.m. Sept. 13 and 12:15 a.m. Sept. 14.

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle at Caroll's Tire at 404 N. Main St. at about 12 p.m. Sept. 14. Fifty-three blank transponder vehicle keys were taken.

A vehicle's window was smashed on Folsom Drive at 8:07 p.m. Sept. 15. Nothing was taken.
