• On July 30, a homeowner on Linden Park Lane reported that she had been the victim of a theft. Officers said the woman reported $6,000 missing from inside her house. There were no signs of forced entry.• Police in Cary are investigating a woman’s claim that her business, N.C. VIP Home Inspections, had been the victim of credit card fraud.
The owner said her business credit card had been compromised and used without permission to purchase items on a number of Web sites, including half.com and oakleydirect.com.• On Aug. 7, an employee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car on North Harrison Avenue reported to police that a customer had failed to return a rental truck on July 17. The suspect was found and arrested in Morrisville on Aug. 7 on a charge of motor vehicle theft.• Cary police are investigating a burglary and theft at the Lighthouse Food Mart, 1298 Buck Jones Road, on Aug. 9. Officers said someone entered the store and took cigarettes and alcohol along with $40 cash.• A desk clerk at the Hilton Garden Inn on RDU Center Drive told police that someone entered an occupied room on Aug. 8 and stole a $1500 laptop, other electronics and $140 cash from two guests.• A 29-year-old Raleigh woman reported to police on Aug. 7 that she had been victimized by a peeping Tom. The woman told officers that the man entered the women’s bathroom at Cary Orthopedics, 1110 S.E. Cary Parkway, and peeped through the stall door.
