• On April 27, an assistant manager at Pretzel Twister in the Cary Towne Center mall called police after discovering that someone had forced open a back door to the business and stole a cash till containing about $400, causing about $200 in damage to the cash register in the process. The suspect was captured on a surveillance video and was described by police as a black male between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2 and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. The man is bald and was seen wearing a red T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.

• A Connecticut woman contacted Cary police after finding that someone used her 85-year-old brother’s name and personal information and an address on Walnut Street to open a credit account with Credit One. The unknown suspect used a fraudulently obtained Visa card to make purchases totaling $886 between Dec. 16, 2007 and April 28, 2009.

• Police are investigating the theft of an auger, valued at $2,500 and owned by Toll Landscaping of Raleigh, from a residential construction site at 1100 Whisper Rock Trail near the intersection with Ashley Rose Drive. The theft occurred between 4 p.m. April 24 and 9:30 a.m. April 27.

Morrisville
• Police charged a 20-year-old Raleigh woman with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at 12:35 a.m. April 22 on I-540. Megan Dew, of 2128 Gorman St., told an officer she was on the way to a friend’s house when the officer stopped her for driving 94 mph. Dew said her father had just died. Despite trying to mask the scent of marijuana with a cigarette, the officer detected the odor and searched Dew’s car, finding a small amount of pot along with syringes and two marijuana pipes.

• Morrisville police have recently charged the following people with driving under the influence of alcohol: Robert Kalbaugh, 24, of 3504 Oakbrook Court, Greensboro, on April 20 at the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Airport Boulevard; Serge Kuschner, 19, of 917 Hardimont Road, Raleigh, at 1:40 a.m. April 6 at the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Interstate 540; Pramod Nadimpally, 40, of 221 Terrastone Place, Cary, at 12:54 a.m. April 4 at the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and I-540.
