• Apex police recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Robert Darden Swain III, 31, of 106 Ribbon Lane, Cary, charged about 11:29 p.m. April 15 at U.S. 64 and Fern Valley Drive; Crystal Dawn Batchelor, 29, of 6664 Crown Court, Zebulon, charged about 8:54 p.m. April 17 at East Williams Street and Pristine Water Drive.

Fuquay-Varina
• Someone entered a vehicle by breaking a window at H&R Block at 1301 North Main St., between 4:30 and 5:09 p.m. April 13. A purse was taken.

• Someone forged and passed a bad check for $100 at BB&T at 1405 North Main St. at about 11:40 a.m. April 15.

• A resident of North Main Street was the victim of credit card fraud reported about 8:26 p.m. April 15.

Holly Springs
• Someone entered an unoccupied home on Oakmoss Trail between 6 p.m. April 14 and 8:05 a.m. April 15. A gas range was taken.

• Someone obtained money under false pretense from a resident of Pyracantha Drive on March 19. Someone also used a fraudulent check to obtain a piano from the same resident on March 19. Craigslist was used in both instances.

• A resident of Sunset Fairways Drive reported being the victim of credit card fraud between Sept. 17 and April 18.

• Someone entered a construction site on Dexter Ridge Drive about 6:55 p.m. April 19. Building materials were taken but were later recovered.

• Someone took a red 2002 Chevrolet work truck from a home on Goosehaven Lane between 6 p.m. April 8 and 5:15 p.m. April 20.

• A resident of Butterbiggins Lane reported being the victim of credit card fraud that started in July 2008. • Holly Springs police charged William Christopher Veno, 27, of 220 Milpass Drive, with assault to inflict serious injury using strangulation at his residence about 2:45 a.m. April 20.

• Holly Springs police recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Raul Garcia-Avila, 24, of 317 Gray St., Durham, charged about 11:10 p.m. April 17 at N.C. 55 and Old Smithfield Road; Ismael Sanchez, 19, of 7905 Paul Ridge Lane, Fuquay-Varina, charged about 12:32 a.m. April 20.
