• The following individuals have been charged with driving while intoxicated: Walter Todd Stevens, 36, of 306 New Rail Drive, at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 12 on West Dynasty Drive; Elyse Marie Appelmann, 21, of 149 Spring Cove Drive, at 3 a.m. Feb. 12 on North Harrison Ave.; Stephanie Michelle Muncy, 27, of 321 Rose Haven Drive in Raleigh, at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 14 on Chapel Hill Road; Robert Edward Starling, 26, of 102 Kempwood Drive, at 4:15 a.m. Feb. 14 outside his apartment; Shannon A. Whitaker, 33, of 1110 Emerald Commons Dr., Apt. 307, at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19 on Cary Towne Boulevard.

• Three employees of Target, 2021 Walnut Street, were charged Feb. 17 with stealing from the store. Police said the employees were all working a night shift when they took and hid merchandise and came back for it later to reprice it at a lower price. The trio then paid for the items at the reduced cost. Charged in the case were: Jeanette Williams Blackwell, 38, of 131 Alstonville Road, Apex, and Atiya Antionette Armstrong, 27, of 515 Kershaw Lane, Clayton. Officers did not release the name of the third suspect but said the person was cited for misdemeanor larceny and released.

• An employee of Lowe’s Foods, 960 High House Road, was charged Feb. 18 with embezzling $110 from the store on Jan. 22 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• Someone stole two drills and a quick saw, valued at a combined $1,130, from a storage box located at a construction site on Coorsdale Drive sometime between 3:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 6:45 a.m. Feb. 19.

• Cary police have a suspect in a case in which someone passed a forged check in the amount of $979.30 at Crescent State Bank, 1155 Kildaire Farm Road, at 3:37 p.m. Feb. 17. The stolen check belonged to D.E. Property Holding LLC of Spring Hope.

• A homeowner living on Laurel Park Place called police after discovering that fraudelent charges totaling $2,523 had been made on his credit card between 11:30 a.m. Feb. 17 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 18. The victim’s credit card had been used to make purchases at a Sleep Doctor store in Michigan and from The Green Loop, a clothing company based in Portland, Ore.

• Someone stole a laptop computer valued at $1,800 from the office at Cary Academy, 1500 N. Harrison Ave., on Feb. 16 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:20 p.m.

• Cary police have secured a warrant for the arrest of a suspect who reportedly stole $4,000 in personal property — including electronics, porcelain and tobacco products — from an apartment on Eton Hall Lane between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 18

• Jewelry valued at $80,000 was taken from Macy’s at Cary Towne Center mall and returned for refunds at other local Macy’s stores. The incidents occurred between 4 p.m. Jan. 22 and 8 a.m. Jan. 31.

• Police think juveniles are likely responsible for assaulting and robbing a 17-year-old male, who was visiting a friend in the Chatham Forest apartment complex. The victim was reportedly assaulted after being verbally challenged by one of two teenagers about his relationship with a female. Officers said both teens were said to have struck the victim. One of the suspects also stole the victim’s ID and $1 from his wallet.

• A homeowner living on Del Webb Avenue reported to police on Feb. 20 that he had been the victim of a burglary. The victim said he left home about 5 p.m. and returned five hours later to find that someone had entered his home through a bedroom window. Missing from his house were a camera, a laptop computer and an Internet router. The items were valued at a combined $2,100.
