A homeowner on Wyatts Pond Lane found that someone apparently used a pry on a side light panel in the front door between 9 and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 2.

• A man was coming upon Lion Auto, 230 E. Johnson St. H, about 6 p.m. Aug. 30 and saw a person who had broken into his vehicle and stolen his stereo. The man, known only as Zorro, chased the suspect to Miami Boulevard in Durham where the stereo was recovered. Cary police are continuing to investigate.

• Someone took $516 from a wallet in a vehicle on Legault Drive between 7 p.m. Sept. 1 and 7 a.m. Sept. 2.

• A washer and dryer were taken from the second floor of a home under construction on Seymour Place between 5 p.m. Sept. 1 and 9:13 a.m. Sept. 2. Other appliances were left. It is unclear how entry was made but it appears that force was not used.

• Someone cut off the latch from the secured the lock to a door securing tools at a construction site on Kildaire Farm Road between noon Aug. 29 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2. The tools were valued at $5,450.

• A Blackberry, debit card, iPod and $100 cash were taken from an unlocked vehicle at Borders, 1751 Walnut St., between 1 and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

• Someone took the air-conditioning unit from La Shish, 908 N.E. Maynard Road, between 9:40 p.m. Aug. 29 and 11:54 a.m. Aug. 30. An employee noticed that the restaurant was unusually warm the morning of Aug. 30. Lowering the thermostat had no effect so she went to inspect the unit, which was gone.

• Someone shattered the passenger-side window of a vehicle at Carquest, 1435 S.E. Maynard Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:53 p.m. Aug. 29. A CD player head unit was taken.

• A Cary man faces a fraud charge. Hamilton Robert Lee, 22, of 100 Parkview Circle, is alleged to have altered the date on a prescription for Percocet presented at CVS, 1123 Kildaire Farm Road, about 2 p.m. Aug. 29. He was charged at his home Sept. 2.

• Someone broke a window in the boathouse at Bond Park and broke a latch on a storage box on the dock between 9 p.m. Aug. 30 and 7 a.m. Aug. 31.

• Police are investigating two car thefts and a motor-vehicle break-in in the Kildaire Farms area. A 2007 Mercury was reported stolen from Sterlingdaire Drive between 11:30 a.m. Aug. 30 and 9 a.m. Aug. 31. The vehicle was recovered later on Aug. 31 nearby on Mockingbird Lane when a resident reported an unusual vehicle parked in the cul-de-sac. A black 2003 Honda Accord was stolen between midnight and 9:50 a.m. Aug. 31 from Winners Circle. An unlocked vehicle on Ellsworth Place had $5 in change and a credit card taken from it between 10 p.m. Aug. 30 and 10 a.m. Aug. 31.

• Someone tried to pry open the back door of a home on Fox Den Court between Aug. 23 and Aug. 31. Entry was not gained.

• A man reported that he locked his vehicle at Cary Fitness and Racquetball, 162 Pebble Creek Drive, about 5:15 p.m. Aug. 27 and put his keys in an unlocked locker. When he left about 8:20 p.m. he found that his vehicle was open, the keys were in it and $12 in change and his Social Security card had been taken.

• Someone took a golf cart from Appledown Drive about 9 a.m. Aug. 28. The cart was found a short time later nearby on West Chalfont Way.

• Cary police have recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Dawn Marie Klemm, 27, of 3111 Kudrow Lane, Morrisville, charged about 3:10 a.m. Aug. 29 at 100 Hidden Springs Road.
