Someone broke out the passenger-side window of a vehicle at Motel 6, 1401 Buck Jones Road, between 12:30 a.m. and 12:54 p.m. Aug. 16. A PlayStation, $350 cash, two handbags and a wallet were taken.

• Someone entered the garage of a home on Kettlewell Court between 10 p.m. Aug. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 16 and took a briefcase and its contents.

• A woman is alleged to have deposited three bad checks into an account at Truliant Federal Credit Union, 2000 Regency Parkway 125 and made withdrawals between July 12 and July 22.

• A Cary woman reported that she had posted an ad for a roommate on craigslist on June 1 that requested a deposit of $1,000. The woman received a check from London for $3,850. When she took it to her bank she was told it was fraudulent.

• A man was walking toward his home on Templeton Street about 11:10 p.m. Aug. 15 when he saw a man and woman running from his residence attempting to steal his pit bull puppy. During the ensuing dispute, the dog broke free and ran back to the house. It is unknown how entry was made into the home.

• A gold and green 2000 Mercury Villager was reported stolen from Hyde Park Court between Aug. 8 and Aug. 12.

• Someone cut the lock hasp on a shed on West Johnson Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 14 and 6 a.m. Aug. 15. Nothing appeared to be missing.

• Someone shattered windows of a vehicle on Carpenter Town Lane between 2 and 2:13 a.m. Aug. 17. A GPS unit was taken.

• Someone broke the windows of 11 vehicles at Progress Energy, 1018 W. Chatham St., between 5 p.m. Aug. 15 and 5:45 a.m. Aug. 16. A gas credit card, vehicle registration card, checkbook, 25 shotgun shells and a jack were taken.

• A Cary woman reported that she was notified by her bank that her credit card had been used in Montreal between July 21 and July 29. The woman said she had not been there.

• A Raleigh teen reported being robbed on Climbing Ivy Court about 1:05 a.m. Aug. 15. The victim was walking to his car when a suspect came up behind him, placed an object in his back and demanded his wallet. The victim did not have a wallet. The suspect yelled obscenities, pushed him to the ground and walked away.

• Cary police arrested Joseph Junior Farrow, 52, of 502 Morningside Drive, about 6:40 p.m. Aug. 14 on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction for obtaining money or property by false pretenses.

• Cary police have recently charged the following people with driving while impaired: Robert James Fryer, 23, of 1400 Hunters Point Way, charged about 2:25 a.m. Aug. 9 at 639 Cary Towne Blvd; Autumn Nora Bennett, 25, of 1130 Trinity Pine Road, charged about 11:12 p.m. Aug. 14 on Northeast Maynard Road; James Robert Johnson, 42, of 1223 Patrick Circle Apartment C, charged about 8:45 p.m. Aug. 15 on Buck Jones Road; Gregory Scott Parker, 35, of 3025 Dixon Road, Durham, charged about 2:52 a.m. Aug. 13 at 1900 N. Harrison Ave.
