MORRISVILLE - Another slow growth group is trying to weigh in on western Wake County politics.
MorrisvilleAction.org, the grassroots group that takes credit for beating back a proposed 19 percent tax hike in the town last year, is now hoping to influence voters. The group issued a list of candidates it is endorsing in the Nov. 3 election. Among them is Jackie Holcombe, a former town commissioner and former member of the organization, who claims she led the fight to defeat the tax increase.
She is vying to unseat incumbent Mayor Jan Faulkner, who declined an interview with the political action committee. It's the latest group to try to advocate for candidates who it believes will represent citizens who are generally opposed to dense development in this growing region.

DavisandHighHouse.org is credited with helping Mayor Harold Weinbrecht unseat Ernie McAlister in 2007.
Ty Elliott, a member of
MorrisvilleAction.org, said the group wants to leave its mark on this year's election.
"We have been disappointed in the current Town Council's majority votes on some of the dense developments approved," Elliott
said. "We really believe it's time for a significant change on the council so that we can address the growth of our town and also the budget."
The group also backs Stephen Diehl, who is challenging incumbent Mark Stohlman in District 2.
And it endorsed Margaret Broadwell who is running against Creighton Blackwell, James Klopovic and Catherine Willis in District 4.
The group also endorsed incumbent at-large candidate Tom Murry, who is running against Lydia Martin and Michael Roberts.
