Woman Dies From Injuries Received When Struck by Car Tuesday

A woman died Tuesday evening from injuries received when she was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon while walking across Main Street in Holly Springs.

The victim, who was 56, died at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. Her name was not released Tuesday night to ensure that all family members were notified. The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Oakhall Drive.

Holly Springs police do not expect to file charges against the driver of the car. The investigation is continuing.

The accident happened as the victim was crossing Main Street in the direction of the Food Lion store. The driver was northbound on Main Street.
