MYSTERY BOOK DISCUSSION

Molly Weston will discuss trends in mystery novels at 2 p.m. Call the Cary library at 919-460-3350 to sign up. 'FRESH' SCREENING

The Western Wake Farmers' Market and Yes! Solar Solutions will provide a free screening of the film "Fresh" at 7 p.m. at 410 Ledgestone Way in Stone Creek Village in Cary. ART AFTER DARK

There will be a free art walk in Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina from 6 to 8 p.m. Opening receptions will be held at the Holly Springs Cultural Center, Holly Springs Art Council, Java Divine Italian Café, The Nature of Art and the Shops of Varina Merchantile in Fuquay-Varina. Bring blankets, folding chairs and picnic dinner to the Downtown Historic Train Depot parking lot, 220 N. FUQUAY-VARINA CENTENNIAL GALA

The Fuquay-Varina Centennial Gala, a tribute to the town's founding, will be held at 5:30 p.m. at 4800 Old Powell Road. The black-tie evening will include dancing, entertainment, a silent auction, charity raffles, a dinner complete with spirits, and a short historical program. Tickets are $65 per person with proceeds benefiting Interact's Pass It On, Girls on the Run and the Fuquay-Varina History Museum. CHARITY CAR SHOW

The Apex Rotary Club will hold the 23rd Annual Kyle Byrd Memorial Charity Car Show at Cooper Tools, 1000 Lufkin Road, Apex, at 9 a.m. Registration for car owners will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Judging will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and awards will be given at 4 p.m. The show will include stock cars, street rods, Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, Pontiacs, Mopars, motorcycles and more. CARY AREA EMS FREE FLU CLINIC

Cary Area Emergency Medical Services will offer a free flu clinic starting at 8 a.m. and until the vaccine is no longer available. The vaccine is not for the H1N1 strain, but for this year's flu strain. In the past two years the vaccine was finished by 11 a.m. The clinic will be at Cary Area EMS, 107 Medcon Court, north of the intersection of Maynard and Kildaire Farm roads. The Cary Photographic Artists Club Exhibition is calling for artists to enter an upcoming show at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury O'Dell Place, Cary. The show runs from Nov. 19 until Dec. 18. Entries for original photographic art pieces will be received at the center starting Nov. 16 from 1 to 8 p.m. Pre-registration is suggested and is available by requesting entry forms.
