A rare collection of original art, lithographs, photographs, handwritten song lyrics, concert posters, gold records, album art, animation drawings and more from the greatest rock artists of all time, sponsored by 100.7 The River, is being shown May 1-3 at the Cary Towne Center.The “Kitty Kinnin’s Rock Art Show” is free and open to the public each day from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (Sunday noon-6 p.m.) All works are available for, purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to Interact of Wake County, a private, nonprofit, United Way agency that provides safety, support, and awareness to victims and survivors of domestic violence.Ron Campbell, director of the legendary Saturday morning Beatles Cartoon series that aired on ABC from 1965 through 1969, will make a rare personal appearance. The show will also showcase works from classic artists such as Paul McCartney, Jerry Garcia, John Entwistle (The Who), Jimi Hendrix, Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, David Bowie, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Tony Bennett, Jon Anderson (Yes), John Lennon, Ringo Starr, U2, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mellencamp, Micky Dolenz and more.
