In a moment that ended up on the front page of the New York Times last Thursday, Cary businesswoman Patty Briguglio is given the floor by Barack Obama July 29 during his speech in Raleigh about health care reform. Briguglio, who owns MMI Public Relations, told the president she’s going to hold him to the promise that any increased taxes her business would have to pay be offset by additional credits. “While I enjoyed my 15 minutes of fame, I am most appreciative to have the opportunity to voice the concerns of small businesses,” Briguglio later said. “Small business deserves a seat at the table in discussing health care reform. I am still waiting on that glass of pinot grigio with the president at the White House.”
