Business

• Pure eCommerce launched their new Web site, calling themselves “the first and only company to specialize in complete turn-key e-commerce solutions.”

The company was founded two years ago by “mompreneur” Jennifer Gault-Varner, who helps people with a business idea create online ventures. Services, which cater to women, include securing domain names, creating Web sites and managing inventory.

“I’ve spoken with lots of stay-at-home moms whose husbands have recently been laid off,” Gault-Varner said. “They want to know how they can help contribute to the family’s income.”

Gault-Varner launched her own online maternity store and sold that company to start Pure eCommerce. For more, visit pureecommerce.com.

• The Cycle Surgeon, a mobile bicycle repair and fitting service, is open for business.

The owner, Matt Lodder, comes from a long stint as head mechanic at the former Spin Cycle, which closed its doors earlier this year.

“When The Spin Cycle closed down, I saw the need and opportunity to open a different type of bicycle store,” said Lodder.

In addition to traditional services, Lodder will offer drop-off and pick-up options, as well as “house call” repairs by appointment.

Lodder has been working in the bicycle industry since 1994, is a graduate of Barnett’s Bicycle Institute and is a certified bicycle fit technician. To contact him, call 819-1060, e-mail CaryCycleSurgeon@gmail.com or visit carycyclesurgeon.com.
