Palko earns Eagle Award

Joseph Palko, son of Mark and Debbie Palko of Apex, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Joseph is a senior at Holly Springs High School.

He began his path to Eagle in the second grade with Cub Scout Pack 327 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Joseph has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 100 at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh since 2003.

In Cub Scouts, Joseph earned his Arrow of Light Award. He has also earned the Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei and Ad Altare Dei awards. He has also held the positions of quartermaster, assistant patrol leader, troop guide and assistant senior patrol leader, as well as earning 24 merit badges.

In March 2006, he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. Hor his Eagle project, he chose to construct shelving and cabinets for the teachers' work area and office space at Cathedral School.
