Cary JayceesThe Cary Jaycees meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Business Network Center on 649 Walnut Street in Cary. The group is providing four $500 grants for those who teach in schools that primarily serve Cary residents. The grants will help teachers in the Cary area with classroom supplies. CARY KILDAIRE ROTARYCary-Kildaire Rotarian Kenn Gardner received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine at the club's Oct.1 meeting. Maria Spaulding, deputy director of the N.C. Department of Human Services, presented the award. She noted Gardner's initiative in creating a foster care investment fund, known as WISE, and formulating a public-private partnership which included Rotary, Wake County Human Services, Wake Tech and local businesses. The program has been recognized by the National Association of Counties.
