Camp EDGE (Experience and Discover God Everywhere) Vacation Bible School will be held July 20-24 from 9 a.m.-noon. This program takes kids on an extreme, action-packed adventure camp that aims to show that their strength and might come from God. Cost is $15. The Friendship Closet is a consignment sale featuring gently used clothing, toys and equipment for babies, children and maternity. The event is a fundraiser and mission outreach of the Friendship Circle at Apex United Methodist Church, raising money for local women’s and children’s missions.
The sale runs August 7-8: Friday hours are 6-9 p.m. and Saturday hours are 7-11 a.m. Select merchandise will be marked down 50 percent on Saturday. Angier United Methodist Church is holding its first Vacation Bible School Festival in the Angier Depot on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to
1 p.m.
All children, accompanied by their parents, are invited to attend. The church will have three tents for Bible lessons where the children can earn a Bible pin for completing each lesson. If a child earns all three pins, he or she can collect a CD with Christian children’s musics. There will also be a craft table for the kids to make a super-cool crafts, as well as face painting. The AUMC Youth Group will have games for the kids to play along with various prizes.
Our theme this year is Studio Go Game Show where everyone is a contestant. Food will be provided by the United Methodist Men and served by the ladies of the church. There will be a $2 charge for a lunch of hot dogs, lemonade, chips and cookies. Children eat free. All proceeds will go to supporting ministries at the church.
