Join Laura Lapp as she shares from her life and book, “Seasoned with Salt: Simple Truths from Scripture.” Laura will be at Westwood Baptist Church on Saturday, July 25, from 3-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
This book is about the truths of scripture and how to apply faith in Jesus Christ to the realities of life that are common to everyone, and, according to its author, be appropriate as a daily devotional.
Laura Lapp is an author, speaker, wife and mother. She and her husband have been married for 32 years and have a daughter. Laura has written and recorded for Trans-World Radio, and served as a teaching director for Community Bible Study, a national, interdenominational Bible study organization. She also teaches needlework and quilting.
Take a break from the hot summer sun and enjoy refreshments as Laura’s words challenge and refresh your heart. We will begin with fellowship and refreshments. Laura will then speak on “Extravagant Love.”

Graduating high school seniors were honored by White Plains United Methodist Church on Senior Recognition on Sunday, June 7.
A luncheon was held following the services for the seniors and their families to celebrate their achievements and to offer prayers and blessings for the future. Three of the graduating seniors were awarded $1000 White Plains Senior Scholarships. These scholarships are given annually to outstanding seniors based on service to the church and community, scholastic achievement and school and community activities. Winners were:
Sarah Panill, graduate of Cary High School and the daughter of Mac and Linda Panill of Cary. Her accomplishments include Confirmation Leader, National Honor Society, Volunteer Dance teacher, and involvement in a number of mission and service Projects.
Zachary Stirewalt, graduate of Green Hope High School and son of Keith and Robin Stirewalt of Cary. His accomplishments include Boy Scouts of America - Eagle Scout, Confirmation Leader, National Honor Society, New Hope High School Band, Photography, Appalachia Service Project and numerous mission projects.
Alexandra Schnoor, graduate of Home Schooling and the daughter of Joel Schonoor and Michelle Barry of Apex. Her accomplishments include Discovery Leader,Youth Choir Leader, Page for the House of Representatives, Swim Team – High Point Award, Appalachian Service Project.
