Curtis Krueger is a Midwesterner by birth, but he can’t imagine ever living too far from the water.

A vacation to Wilmington led to his full-time North Carolina residence about 25 years ago. The port city’s seascapes figure prominently is his work, which will be on display in one of the booths at this year’s Cary Lazy Daze festival.

Kreuger, 49, is perhaps best known for his “Mrs. Davis’ Chair” series, which he completed three years ago.

“It was quirky,” he said of the photos, which featured the wrought iron garden chair of an elderly neighbor snapped in scenic places in every state of the country.

Those photos along with other landscapes — Kreuger’s specialty — will be showcased in his Lazy Daze booth (look for E593).

His pieces range in price from $20 to $650 and from 8-inch by 10-inch matted pieces to 36-inch by 48-inch framed pieces. To learn more about Krueger visit curtiskrueger.com.
