Cary Players will perform "It's A Wonderful Life" as a 1940's style live radio drama.
The show will be performed Dec. 4 through Dec. 7 at Cary's Town Council chambers, which are at 316 N. Academy St. in downtown Cary.
Using a script by Phil Grecian and directed by Debra Grannan, about 30 local performers will recreate this classic story based on the movie by Frank Capra.
Tickets in advance cost $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, $8 for children 12 and under.
Tickets at the door cost $15.
Tickets can be bought at
ticketmaster.com or at the Herbert C. Young Community Center, which is at 101 Wilkinson Ave. in Cary.
The show is the 22nd production by the Cary Players, Cary's largest and longest-running community theatre company. Directed by Debra Grannan, with musical direction by Craig Johnson, the show is set on the stage of a 1940s radio studio, with actors taking turns at the old microphones playing the characters of Bedford Falls.
A team of artists enhances the story with authentic 1940s sound effects using an array of vintage items and gadgets.
Based on the success of last year's production, Cary Players is producing the show again as one of the many family holiday events taking place in downtown Cary next month.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5, 3 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7p.m. on Dec. 7.
Cary Players was founded in 2001 with a mission to provide the citizens of Cary and surrounding areas with the opportunity to showcase and enhance their theatrical talents.
