Maripolooza, a family-friendly music festival, comes to Koka Booth Amphitheatre today from noon to 6 p.m. The event is free.
Maripolooza offers music from local bands along with food and specialty vendors. The event raises money for the Mariposa School for Children with Autism.
The musical lineup:
Mind the Gap, a Research Triangle Park band of IBMers
Voices Together, a vocal ensemble that performs classical music, musical theater, sacred works and songs of world cultures
Penne Sandbeck, featuring acoustic folk, Americana and folk blues
Matt Wilkerson, who performs blues, rock, alt-country and traditional tunes
Braima Moiwai, a West African storyteller and drummer
Sea Cow, a Durham band that plays original, roots and danceable guitar-based rock
Ira Planer, who plays a combination of acoustic blues, slide guitar and rock fusion.
