Spring Daze

Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bond park in Cary.

Getting there:

Use Cary’s C-TRAN Transit System for free. For information see townofcary.org/ctran/ctran overview.htm.

Festival Shuttle Bus. Park at the Town Hall parking deck and take the free shuttle.

Car: Parking is available inside at the Bond Park Community Center, Cary Senior Center and the Ropes Course. Also at limited areas at St. Michael’s Catholic and at Genesis United Methodist churches.

Handicapped Accessible Parking: Volunteers near the senior center will assist you in parking.

Restrictions:

No roller skates or roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and so on are allowed. No tossing of balls, Frisbees or other objects. Dogs and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Weather:

Rain date is Sunday, April 27, 1-6 p.m.

Special attractions

Ikebana

In and of the Landscape. Japanese born artist Lily Karmatz will be conducting an artist’s residency April 21-26 working with Cary’s youth to construct outdoor sculptural arrangements that will be on display through summer.

Water Bottle Dragon at Earth Day

Help us create a dragon. Children will be encouraged to recycle their plastic water bottles in a bin at Earth Day and then paint the bottle cap and place it on the Water Bottle Dragon in mosaic form.

Camp/Track Out Fair and Program Gala

Celebrate the beginning of spring and also your summer activities at Bond Park Community Center. Experience class samplers, track out and summer camp fair and a children’s art exhibit.

Old Standbys

The festival will be filled with arts and crafts, your favorite festival foods, information from community based civic groups, and entertainment. Children will be delighted by activities in the Children’s Village.

Earth Day area

This is a perfect way to learn more about what your family can do to make every day Earth Day.
