The Alzheimer’s Association-Eastern N.C. Chapter, in partnership with Brookdale Senior Living, is presenting “You Are Smarter than a Sixth Grader! How We Remember and Why We Forget” by Scott Hagwood, national memory champion, on Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hope Community Church on 821 Buck Jones Road in Raleigh.

Registration runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The event fee is $10 and includes lunch. Reservations are required. Call toll-free (877) 751-2267 to reserve a seat.

Hagwood, a four-time national memory champion, will share his story and the memory enhancement techniques he created as a result of having thyroid cancer. These techniques have helped him go from having an average memory to American grand master of memory.

All proceeds will benefit the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
