Cary power outage affects about 1,200 for several hours, Progress says

— Progress Energy crews Friday morning restored power to 1,184 customers who lost electric service for several hours.

The company’s outage information website said customers lost power about 7:15 a.m.

By 11:30 a.m., Progress was reporting 111 customers without power in scattered locations in Wake County.

Cary police said they had received reports of a power surge Friday morning, but there had been no accidents affecting power lines.
