Cary Boy Scout earns Eagle Scout rank

Trevor Varney of Cary, a member of Boy Scout Troop 152, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. He built a pair of large storage shelves for Dorcas Ministries, where he worked as a volunteer last summer. Trevor, a junior at Holly Springs High School, is the son of Kathy and Victor Varney.

Cary Girl Scout is a top cookie seller

Xena Gray, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15, is the top cookie seller of Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines this year. She sold 4,750 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year. She is a seventh-grade student at East Cary Middle School and the daughter of Haley and Richard Gray.

Local students serve as pages

Simone Meeks, a student at Middle Creek High School, served as a page for the N.C. House of Representatives. She was sponsored by Rep. Rosa Gill. She is the daughter of Vernon and L’Tonya Meeks of Fuquay-Varina.

Matthew Wilder, a student at Middle Creek High School, served as a page for the N.C. House of Representatives. He was sponsored by Rep. Nelson Dollar. He is the son of George and Barb Wilder of Apex.
