• In the first spring sports rankings by The News & Observer last week, a Southwest Wake Athletic Conference team was No. 1 in all five of the rankings. Panther Creek was No. 1 in girls soccer, Holly Springs No. 1 in baseball and Apex had three No. 1 teams – softball, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.
